Case study

Problem

Films and shows are an ocean. Popular lists show everyone the same ten titles, and the thing you'd actually love rarely makes it onto your radar. What you've watched blurs too: "When did I see this, and what did I think?"

Approach

Seenfy brings Netflix's sense of discovery, Letterboxd's memory and Spotify's "I know you" feeling into one app.

  • A feed shaped by you: it learns your watch history and brings recommendations that fit your taste, refreshed every week.
  • A film diary: log every film and show, rate it, jot down a line or two.
  • Fast search: filter by genre, rating, year range and platform, and see whether it's on Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+.
  • Spoiler-free talk: join the comments; comments with spoilers are hidden automatically.
  • Stats: how many films you've watched, how many shows you've finished, which genre you love most.

Outcome

Seenfy launched on the App Store on 24 September 2026. Version 1.1, out on 10 October, sped up the first steps: search during onboarding, an endless recommendation list built from your picks, and sign-up that no longer breaks if the connection drops.
